Examinations
Our medical services begin with an examination to determine the health of your eyes. We use the latest computerized instruments to test for refractive errors. Please bring in your current glasses and contact lens prescription (if available) when you come, even if they are broken or unsatisfactory. They will help us to maintain an accurate record on you.

Phone Calls
Please call our office if you have any questions regarding your condition, treatment or medication. Our staff is specially trained to answer most questions and arrange prescription refills. If you need to speak directly to your doctor, the staff will ask him to return your call as soon as possible. If you call because you have developed a new problem or complication, it will probably be necessary to examine you in the office since many diseases have similar symptoms.

Billing and Insurance
It is our policy to require payment for office visits on the day the service is performed. This allows us to reduce the expense of additional billing. To make payment more convenient for you, we accept personal checks, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover. Financing plans are available for laser vision correction and cosmetic plastic surgery.
If you have medical and/or vision care insurance please show the appropriate forms or cards to our receptionist. We will be happy to assist you with your insurance form questions. We will do all that is possible for you to receive the maximum reimbursement from your insurance company. Insurance plans vary and cover anywhere from zero to 100% of all costs.
We realize that many people are in positions of financial hardship for various reasons. Please discuss your situation with us so we can make appropriate arrangements for you.

Appointments
Our regular office hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Extended hours are available for those who cannot come during these times. When calling for an appointment, please explain as much as possible about why you are coming in. This will allow us to schedule an appropriate amount of time for your exam.

Generally speaking, a complete or initial eye exam may take an hour or two, depending on the ocular problem. A treatment or follow-up exam usually requires less time. Our optical department works on a first come basis--no appointment is necessary for selecting or picking up eyeglasses.

Although we try to stay on schedule, sometimes emergencies arise requiring us to schedule Òsqueeze inÓ appointments. We will try to notify you before your appointment if we are seriously delayed. We know your time is valuable and we truly appreciate your patience if you have to wait.

After Hour Emergencies
After 5:30 p.m. and on weekends, our telephone is handled by an answering service. When you call the service will either contact your doctor, so that he can respond to you, or put you in contact with the ophthalmologist who is on call.
