Dr. Sandy Lee is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. She specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous, including diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal detachments.

A graduate of Wellesley College, Dr. Lee completed her undergraduate degree in three years, double majoring in Biology and French Literature. Her undergraduate honors include Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, and departmental honors in biology. She earned her medical degree at the University of California San Francisco. A native of Southern California, she returned to Los Angeles to serve an internship at the L. A. County USC Medical Center. Dr. Lee completed her residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute-UCLA, where she then proceeded to fulfill a 2 year fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal surgery and diseases.

Dr. Lee has participated in clinical trials for advancing medical treatments of macular degeneration. She has extensive experience in complex and challenging vitreo-retinal surgeries, implementing the latest surgical techniques.

Dr. Lee was born and raised in Southern California and speaks Korean. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking and baking.
