Eye Examinations and Treatment

Our medical services begin with an examination to determine the health of your eyes. We use the latest computerized instruments to test for refractive errors. Please bring in your current glasses and contact lens prescription (if available) when you come, even if they are broken or unsatisfactory. They will help us to maintain an accurate record on you.

If you require eyeglasses, your prescription can be filled by our optical department. We maintain a large inventory of fashion eyewear and sunglasses in all price ranges. Our highly trained opticians assure that you will receive accurate light weight lenses at affordable prices. They will help you select stylish frames and tints that compliment your facial features. If contact lenses are desired, our optometrist can fit you with the latest in soft, hard (gas permeable), tinted, designer or extended wear lenses.

Laser Vision Correction

The excimer laser is a computer-driven ultraviolet beam of light that reshapes the surface of the cornea to improve the way light is focused (refracted) by the eye, thereby reducing or eliminating a variety of refractive errors. One of the most exciting procedures we perform is called LASIK. A thin layer of the cornea is folded back and then replaced after the laser treatment is completed. Healing is rapid with minimal discomfort. We were one of the first centers in the country to begin offering laser vision correction after it was approved by the FDA in 1995. The excimer laser is now routinely used around the world to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. If you would like to decrease your dependence on glasses or contacts our staff will be glad to discuss whether a vision correction procedure is advisable for you.

Plastic Surgery

Aging of the face is inevitable. If you are bothered by "bags", wrinkles. or drooping around your eyes or other parts of your face, please discuss these problems with our staff. Our skilled plastic surgeon is trained in both eye and facial plastic surgery. She uses the latest small-incision endoscopic and laser techniques to perform facelifts, brow lifts, and other fine cosmetic procedures. Chemical or laser skin resurfacing (peels) and Botox injections are available to help smooth the skin surface.
